You've found yourself in the weeds, now what?

We've all been there and most of us have had to learn plant avoidance lessons the hard way. Fear not. Skin rash from poison ivy, oak, or sumac doesn't have to happen to you ever again.

Knowing which plants to avoid recreationally and understanding safe handling during purposeful plant clean up is crucial. If you can't be certain, error on the side of caution. Get inside and wash quickly. You have a window of minutes to hours after exposure before the oils penetrate skin enough to trigger a reaction. Time between exposure and rash, and the severity of the rash, depends on how irritating the oils are to your system, or how allergic you are, and whether the oil has been rubbed in. Even if you find yourself covered in an itchy, irritating rash from contact with poison ivy, oak or sumac, you can still contain and lessen the irritation with a soapy, scrubby treatment of our Leaves of Three Poison Ivy Bar.

I haven't had poison ivy in years even though I am allergic and often exposed. Incidentally, never burn poison ivy, oak or sumac because the plant oils can become airborne and penetrate respiratory systems. If you think you have been exposed or you begin to itch, remove contaminated clothing immediately and isolate them until they can be washed. Then scrub your cares away.

Leaves of Three Poison Ivy Soap is formulated to remove plant oils from skin, soothe effected areas, reduce swelling, and promote skin healing and health. This 100% all natural bar provides the grit required to remove oil fast! Choose a shower over a tub or sink if you have a choice, then work up a rich lather and scrub every part of exposed skin meticulously. Rinse. Repeat. The old joke goes like this: pretend you've just minced jalapeno peppers and it's time to put in your contacts⏤ THAT'S how well you clean skin that's been exposed to poison ivy. Removing all the surface oil from exposed skin requires due diligence. Don't rush this job. Pay special attention to your fingers and hands first so you don't accidentally spread the oil from one body part to another.

Formulated with soothing oat⏤ nature's best and mildest exfoliator⏤ our poison ivy bar is packed with natural antihistamine to soothe itch. Oat and castor bean oil reduce the bubble size of lather, creating a slimy cream that penetrates nail beds and skin cracks to remove plant oil that may have lodged in small skin crevices. Clay draws oil up and out of skin fast so plant toxins can be rinsed away for maximum efficacy. Clay also reduces swelling. Willow bark has been used for centuries as a pain reliever, as has comfrey, and comfrey contains a chemical substance called rosmarinic acid that helps relieve inflammation in addition to pain. Vitamin E promotes skin health and may help effected skin recover faster. We've used hemp seed oil because hemp is widely believed to be the most therapeutically beneficial plant seed oil available. We love its skin healing properties as well as hemp's promotion of whole system health. 100% all natural ingredients that are richly skin conditioning are essential when aggressive, frequent remedial skin washing is required. Skin care isn't complicated. This is common sense body care.

Our Poison Ivy soap is one hundred percent all natural.  Vegan. No artificial anything.

sammysoap Leaves of Three Poison Ivy Soap is fast and effective treatment for skin that's been exposed to any prickly, poison, rash-producing plant or animal. It's safe for children and works for animals, too. This soap is formulated to keep skin clear and healthy before and after exposure to irritating plants (and animals) but time is of the essence. No 100% all natural product will reduce a poison ivy rash completely once the ivy oils have penetrated the upper layers of skin. (Likewise, no allergic reaction can be minimized once animal oil or dander has been transferred from hands to eyes or nose. Wash your hands immediately if you are allergic to an animal but have been exposed.) The trick with poison ivy, oak or sumac is to get in the shower fast and remove all toxic plant oil thoroughly. Our soap will help soothe the itch of existing rashes and maintain skin's moisture barrier, keeping skin supple enough to avoid scarring and help your skin heal fast.  Don't forget to hydrate. Hydration is key whenever your body is in repair mode.

Leaves of Three Poison Ivy Soap is unscented. For face, body, and all skin types. Available in bulk (buy 6 get the 7th bar free) and naked for eco-friendly zero waste packaging.
